From tille at debian.org Tue Jan 28 11:05:00 2025 From: tille at debian.org (Andreas Tille) Date: Tue, 28 Jan 2025 12:05:00 +0100 Subject: [Pkg-sugar-devel] Bug#1094461: olpc-xo1: Please replace cdbs by dh and migrate package to Salsa - possibly debian/ team Message-ID: <173806230096.311739.9293191982479340136.reportbug@energija.fam-tille.de> Source: olpc-xo1 Version: 0.4+nmu1 Severity: normal Tags: patch X-Debbugs-Cc: Debian Sugar Team , Jonas Smedegaard , Package Salvaging Team Hi Jonas. due to bug #1026085 (O: cdbs -- common build system for Debian packages) I did some research about packaging with cdbs for "no good reason" (= very easy to replace by dh) and by doing so stumbled upon olpc-xo1. I also think that this package would be nice to have on Salsa and I took the freedom to move it to the debian/ team[1] after verifying that there is no "Debian Sugar Team" (or the like) on Salsa. At least I found two other olpc* packages inside the debian/ team so that seemed to be a good fit to me. Please let me know if the Sugar / OLPC team might have some space somewhere else. When I imported the package I used gbp import-dscs --debsnap --create-missing-branches --pristine-tar olpc-xo1 and realised that it contained some debian/gbp.conf file. This might be some indication that you might have a Git repository somewhere else. I'd happily restore the full Git history if you might be able to provide your repository somewhere. I'd be also happy to move the repository to some other place on Salsa according to your suggestion. I do not really want to "Salvage" this package in the sense that I want to care myself for it but I feel the debian/ team is a good place in any case. Thus I'd like to follow the ITS schedule and will wait 21 days for your comments on this bug. After this time I would upload to the delayed=10 queue. Hopefully see you in Brest Andreas. PS: Private note: I vividly remember our Debian Edu workshop in Merida in 2007 when I had my first hands on an OLPC laptop. At the same workshop you helped me with the Files-Excluded idea and implementation. Sooo long time ago. ;-) [1] https://salsa.debian.org/debian/olpc-xo1 -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (501, 'testing'), (50, 'buildd-unstable'), (50, 'unstable'), (5, 'experimental'), (1, 'buildd-experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.6-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=de_DE:de Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled
