Hi Michael:

Just for the record:

After moving my 'usr' partition to '/' I had another bad-boot...then I
realized that I also had 'var' in a separate partition and the
systemd log told me that it wasn't mounted at boot time...so I had to
move it to '/' also.

So, at least for me, it's necessary to have 'usr' and 'var' in '/'.
