Hi,

I have good news: vala 0.22 is now in unstable, so even a binNMU should 
fix the crashes.
But it would be better to update the build-dependency from 'valac (>= 
0.12)' to 'valac (>= 0.22)'.

Perhaps you can also import the new upstream version 3?
