This is a duplicate of [1], so re-assigning and merging.

Martin raised this issue upstream [2]. I turns out the underlying
reasons for those issues are not yet clear. That said, the Debian udev
package currently ships a patch which sets events_dfl_poll_msecs and
should work around the issue you are seeing.
