Feel free to change it to something more appropriate, I was guided by
the critical severity description "makes unrelated software on the
system break". I guess whether that is appropriate depends on your
definition of "unrelated" and "break". As I understand it, the
immediate effect is that gnome-control-center can't change the
hostname entry in /etc/hosts, which will cause anything that relies on
that entry being correct to break. If the system has no other means of
resolving the hostname, then any local network services that have been
configured to use or bind the local hostname will stop working.
