For a quick test/fall-back make sure you have a recent enough sysvinit 
installed (2.88dsf-55.3) and boot with init=/lib/sysvinit/init.

For a more permanent replacement you might need to install systemd-shim 
along with sysvinit-core:

    apt-get install sysvinit-core systemd-shim systemd-sysv-

You can still boot with init=/lib/systemd/systemd if you don't remove 
the systemd package.
