Bug#769607: Confirmed here

In my case plymouth is not installed. I am using nouveau graphic driver.
My bug is not exactly the same as #769369, because my system usually turns
off / reboot correctly, the problem is I can't see anything during the
shutdown process due to the screen turned off.
