OpenVPN upgrade from SysV to systemd

Dear systemd maintainers,

I'm on my way to implementing systemd support for OpenVPN [1], not
without glitches. The work is almost done, but I don't know how to
solve this bug [2]. I was expecting it (paragraph in [1] starting with
"Another problem is the package upgrade to systemd in a running system".

"Luckily" openvpn is not moving into Jessie due to a different bug so I
hoped I could solve #761488 before OpenVPN gets into Jessie.

The issue is that after installing openvpn.service the instances of
openvpn previously started (with init.d script) are not "recognized" by
systemd ('s service).

Could you give any hint on how to do it?

Thanks,

Alberto
