​Hmm, I set it to debug
    hammett:test1# grep udev_log /etc/udev/udev.conf
    #udev_log="info"
    udev_log="debug"

and rebooted with the test1 setup to get debug logs with test1, then
reverted:

​then ran:

   # ​journalctl -u systemd-udevd > systemd-udevd-reverted-journalctl.log
(the restart begins at:

)

​I don't see much therein that looks interesting/revealing, but i certainly
can not reboot the system in this state to get further logging, since we'll
be back at the original issue with a locked-up system.  So, let me know if
you need something else (udevadm...?)
