I'm aware this is not a poll, so just for the record:
Tails Installer will soon be uploaded to Debian, and then to
jessie-backports; it uses udisks whenever possible, but some of its
use-cases (e.g. setting up the MBR, if I remember clearly) require raw
write access to removable drives => if this worked the same way as it
did in Wheezy, then this would make our task much easier. Otherwise,
we'll have to go through ugly hacks or, worse, have users run the
software as root. I expect the situation is the same for other,
similar tools.
