Ah, ok :-) Well, I don't actually need to do that, merely killing the
two daemons does just fine.

Yes, I get that assertion.

Yes, should be fine. I created a reproducer in the form of an
autopkgtest, and now run git bisect on upstream to find the commit
between v215 and v219 that fixed it.
