Can you please provide us with a Xorg.0.log from the failed start?
If you are using systemd as init system, it would also be helpful to
have a debug log from the boot.
For that, add "systemd.log_level=debug systemd.log_level=kmsg" to the
kernel command line, and the then attach the output of journalctl -alb
to the bug report.
