How to have an /etc/xdg/autostart/app.desktop service wait for a (systemd) service?

This suggests that one can set up relationships between units running
under the user session, and units running within the PID 1, right?

(I've tried to do exactly that a few months ago when porting some
Tails stuff to systemd and failed, so now you make me hope that
I missed something obvious :)
