systemd-shim has become orphaned, I'd like to become a sponsored maintainer and maintain it

I'm not quite sure how this works and the guides aren't that helpful.
While the shim might be a little outside the remit of this team's
portfolio, I guess I'm looking for someone who'd be willing to be my
sponsor? I'm not subscribed to this list and this would be my first
contribution to the project. To sell myself a little I do have a
bachelors in CS, and I have a little experience in C and the shim
doesn't look like it would be too difficult to maintain, and it
doesn't look like it'll need more than sporadic attention (I hope) so
hopefully this will be fairly easy for everyone involved.

Please let me know if you have any advice or suggestions. Maybe I
should contact the systemd-shim maintainers? Martin Pitt, and Steve
Langasek? I guess if one or both of them is a DD?

Thanks
