As long as the jobs still run in a predictable order and serialized, I
don't care about implementation details.

And *boom* goes my virt-cluster. And my job with it. Bad idea.
Guarantee to keep cron around in the server environment for decades.

Yes, but if you want people to use those features, you need to tell
them about them. Not everybody is made for upstream's docs with their
sometimes really painful teacher like diction.

Just don't assume that your use case is valid for everybody, don't
tell people "you're doing it wrong", and don't change to many things
at once. It's not _that_ hard.
