Nope the plymouth error is a total red herring.

I'm not quite sure yet how this can be fixed.
Maybe systemd-logind can forcefully release all devices it handed out to
Xorg/Wayland when it is stopped.

Or systemd-logind is not stopped when isolating to a different target.

This most likely needs involvement of upstream.
