Sorry for that.
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/6910 is indeed still open.
Removing the (wrongfully added) fixed-upstream tag which I guess caused
me to close this bug report in the 235-1 upload.
Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the
universe are pointed away from Earth?
