I now just typed stuff into the login prompt without actually logging in
and sddm appeared after just a few seconds of doing so. Kernel put
[ 25.043568] random: crng init done
[ 25.043760] random: 3 urandom warning(s) missed due to ratelimiting
to console (and in dmesg).
