Bug#888955: open-vm-tools.service 10.2.0 does not start on boot on jessie/stretch/etc

Why does open-vm-tools.service need DefaultDependencies=no? Those should
only be used by very few selected early boot services.

vmtoolsd doesn't ship a man page, but from a quick internet search, this
tool does not seem to fall into this category.
