I would need to build my own systemd since I need two other patches for
crippling IPv6 bugs to have a useable systemd-networkd.

Do I still need to do that?

That being said, please consider applying the two other patches from
#869995 to get working IPv6 in stretch's sytstemd-networkd as well.
