By "cannot disable the touchscreen", I assume you mean that the
hid_multitouch kernel module is loaded?
What's the output of
# lsmod | grep hid_multitouch
# grep hid_multitouch /etc/modprobe.d/*
# lsinitramfs /boot/initrd.img-$(uname -r) | grep modprobe
What happens if you manually unload hid_multitouch
and then run
# modprobe hid_multitouch
Is the module loaded or not?
