This bug should be fixed by
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/commit/2002d8cdaee105a7ab6bc89d480a9ded2198247a
and
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/commit/64602c843beb228be919e5f0639427b60d589ec6

which are part of 243~rc2-1 which is available from experimental.
It would be awesome if you could test this version and confirm that it
fixes your problem.

Using the version from experimental should be fairly safe, but if you
are too concerned about using something from experimental, I can provide
a patch v242 package.
