Thanks for pointing this out, I did not know it was officially
unsupported.
I was already using the workaround for logind for quite a while and it
is working fine.
As for the polkit workaround it requires polkit from experimental. I
tried (with systemd 246.6-5) but it seems the client also do things of
its own and that is not sufficient.
I then disabled hidepid and polkit is now working with 246.6-5.
Switching back to 247.1-3 I'm hitting the same problem. If a polkit
agent is absolutely necessary then I'm not sure how it's supposed to
work since it is launched (in the recommended sway config) after a
graphical session is created by sway and it's already too late (the
error messages came from sway initializing inputs). I cannot run the
polkit agent before because it complains there is no display and quit.
I have no idea how desktop environments handle this. I could not find
anyone using sway doing differently but 247 is fairly recent.
Would you have any idea? Anything to experiment?
Regards.
