Hi all,

I'm currently running a Debian testing with udev package version 244.3-1 and I've recently noticed the following error message at boot time :

systemd-udevd[446]: controlC1: /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/78-sound-card.rules:5 Failed to write ATTR{/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0/0000:01:00.1/sound/card1/controlC1/../uevent}, ignoring: No such file or directory
systemd-udevd[446]: controlC1: Process '/usr/sbin/alsactl -E HOME=/run/alsa -E XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=/run/alsa/runtime restore ' failed with exit code 19.

Since the file /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/78-sound-card.rules seems to fall under your responsibility (it is part of udev package) I was wondering if that could be an error that you faced already. If not could you please point me to someone that could be of any help concerning the issue ? I've read the comments in the file, from what I understood there is currently no better way than an exhaustive review of add events. The issue being in my case that one of the paths does not exist and I've got no idea why or how it came to be referenced. In fact I'm not even sure whether it is event-related or depending on configuration. I've got currently only one sound card enabled, the other one being part of Nvidia chipset (not enabled as long as HDMI output is not in use). That being said the only mention I found of the same issue was coming from someone who also had a setup with an integrated GPU and a discrete Nvidia GPU so that could be a lead.

Regards,
