Hi Michael, now that bullseye has been out for a while, do you believe this
could be part of the next release?

While enabling it by default is not yet possible (even though the SSH issues
are not unsolvable, see
https://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/userdbctl.html#Integration%20with%20SSH
and https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/systemd-homed#SSH_remote_unlocking) I
think that this could really be useful in multi-user workstations or in
schools, and to setups where security is important in general.

I'm trying to become a maintainer, and since working in a team is a good place
to start I could help you with the packaging of this particular part of systemd
