Thanks. I could reproduce the issue with evtest when the lid is
at some specific half-closed position (as it is usually near such
a position). I left evtest running the night, i.e. while I wasn't
using the machine, and events were sent several dozens of times.
This is probably a hardware issue (a poorly designed sensor?), so
I should try to avoid some lid positions. (FYI, I can't have the
lid fully open, otherwise it hides my external screens on my desk,
and I prefer not to close it completely because of the heat.)
