What's needed at this point is a new update which can be discussed with
the Stable Release Managers and once agreed released via stable-
updates. (Preferably a targeted fix for the issue.)

It was reported at a non release critical severity, tagged "moreinfo"
and neither the submitter nor the maintainer (nor anyone else) raised
it to the Release Team's attention.
