I VIOLENTLY disagree with that.

systemd-networkd is WIDELY used in professional environments, especially
where VLANs and Bridges are in use, BECAUSE it can handle those
configuration cases and does it in a way that is VERY convenient to
configure with configuration management methods.

I find this ABSOLUTELY release critical and we should definetely even
ponder to do a new STABLE update and not advise our professional users
to pull a fixed package from a part of our archive where we usually
stage packages for the next stable point release.

If we leave this bug in our stable release for months (we already did
for more than a week), this is going to hurt Debian in the professional
segment, where the users are that are likely to sponsor us. I ask the
stable release team for a formal decision that this IS in fact a release
critical bug.

I find your attitude to just shrug this away with "optional component"
and "wait for the next point release" insultingly unacceptable.

Greetings
Marc

P.S.: What people need now is:

$ cat /etc/apt/preferences.d/10-trixie-systemd-257.8-1.pref
Package: systemd
Pin: version 257.8-1~deb13u1
Pin-Priority: -1
