Yeah, I had quite a bit of backlog from the -commits list.  Skimmed
throught 230 changes.  Done now. :)

Btw, please commit the code and changelog changes together when
possible, as it make it easier to review the change.  I can then read
the explanation together with the code.

The tightened dependencies make it hard for me to do test boots and
shutdowns, so I have only done simple tests with qemu and LTSP.  On
the positive side, the new changes seen to work better with a
read-only root, so I get less warnings when booting an LTSP client. :)
