Hi there. I'm also experiencing this problem, though the error message I
receive is slightly different:
root:~# bootlogd -r -c
bootlogd: cannot find console device 136:0 in /dev
root:~# echo $?
1
root:~# ls -l /dev/console /dev/ttyzf
crw------- 1 root root 5, 1 2006-08-13 00:01 /dev/console
crw-rw-rw- 1 root tty 3, 175 2006-08-13 09:27 /dev/ttyzf
root:~#
