sysvinit 2.86.ds1-12 dropped into testing today so the likelihood of our
getting new bug reports has suddenly increased.

Some changes have already been made in svn for -13 (see the changelog or
the bug reports tagged as pending) but they are all low-risk ones; what's
in svn now is a good basis for a bugfix release if one turns out to be necessary.

There are still bugs that need fixing. I invite team members to take on any
of the following:

#337444: initscripts: Boot process does not halt if both fsck and sulogin fail
#102630: sysvinit: sulogin ignores the tty argument (sometimes)
#328474: sysvinit: selinux error message at boot time
#329328: sysvinit attempts to mount selinux when it is not available
#40144: sysvinit: sulogin shell priority (/bin/sh vs. root's) is backwards
#43317: sysvinit: Please have sulogin fall back on /bin/sash if all else fails
#348172: halt: please spin down SATA disks as well
#67321: sysvinit: Please provide a way to bypass sulogin in emergency (-b) mode
#181756: sysvinit: init: Please send output to all consoles
#258420: initscripts: On shutdown, first kills all processes including portmap, then tries to unmount network filesystems (which fails)
#339955: sysv-rc: Does not source .sh scripts

For the last one I wonder if "exit"s in sourced scripts could be trapped such
that processing would continue immediately after the source command.

I have tagged some of the above reports "help". If anyone knows developers with
relevant expertise, please contact them for advice and/or patches.

Once 2.86.ds1-12 has been in testing for a while I would really like to see
a shift of patches upstream. Miquel: Are you available to do a new upstream
release any time soon?
