2.84­195 does not exist, so I assume you mean 2.84-1.  This is a version
from 2001, probably released with oldstable before security updates or point
release updates.

We do not support upgrades from such old versions, any breakage you get is
your own.  You should upgrade from oldstable to stable (and you are to
follow the release notes to do it).  Only after you are running stable  can
you upgrade to either Unstable or Testing.

Reducing this bug to severity wishlist, and tagging it wontfix.
