[Pkg-sysvinit-devel] Bug#414508: initscripts: /tmp/initramfs.debug gets cleaned away before it can be viewed

Package: initscripts
Version: 2.86.ds1-38
Severity: normal

When booting the kernel with additional option 'debug', the file
/tmp/initramfs.debug gets cleaned away during bootclean, which makes it
impossible to inspect it after buut unless debugging levels with
shell start are used. IMHO depending on TMPTIME to be set is
probably too much to expect because users may not have the chance to
change its value once they experience trouble during initramfs stage.
Isn't it a better idea to move /tmp/initramfs.debug out of the way or
tack it on to the bootlog instead of leaving it in /tmp ?
