Somehow I managed to miss that there had been any updates to this bug
since I reported it over four years ago.  I might still be interested
in working on it.  Do you think it is still relevant with the
possibility of moving to a dependency-based init system?

I'm changing the submitter of this to my debian address (I was not a
debian developer yet when I submitted this) as I am less likely to
overlook bug traffic that is addressed to my debian address.

I imagine we're too late for Lenny at this point.  Oh well.
