That doesn't make any sense.  If fsck wants to save logs on /var/log, it
must have gone through something that would have mounted /var already, or it
is a damn hideous bug that needs fixing ASAP.

Assuming that was just a bad example, exactly which path you cannot mount as
tmpfs through /etc/fstab right now?   It certainly works for anything I
want, *even* /var/run and /var/lock (although we have scripts for that)...

That said, I'd really like to see our tmpfs support moving to a simple parse
of /etc/fstab, instead of special config files somewhere in /etc...
