[Pkg-sysvinit-devel] sysv-rc: Multiple init execution (final logfiles)

I checked it out by writing the rcS log to the root filesystem (/), to exclude the possibility of mount issues. But it's still the same: Only one run is recorded. I also modified the tracker to create different files per run (to exclude sync issues when writing to the same file):
Still, only one run is logged for rcS. But you can see two invocations in the process list...
Here's the updated tarball, including /etc/fstab and apt sources.list and the grub configurations /etc/default/grub and /boot/grub/grub.cfg.
The system logs are still the old ones.
I enabled bootlogd, but still can not see any 'fail' messages anywhere. I can see them at bootup on the screen though. I just wonder why bootlogd does not get them ?
I can copy them with gpm if you like to see them.
Any chance this is happening on many other boxes out there, too, just, nobody noticing ?
I mean, who's looking up the boot messages on textconsole, nowadays. Virtually anybody boots into a graphical login manager. And remember, there are no log entries on disk.
I still suspect the sysv-rc upgrade script did something even though i rejected the upgrade. It's just, sysv-rc now does parallel launches and i have two init processes, but with the legacy layout, where it would not work. Maybe that's the problem ?
Alternatively, i wonder if it could be an issue with initramfs. Could the init ramdisk trigger two init launches ? Was its layout modified for the new sysv-rc somehow ?
Yes i could go dependency boot next. But honestly, this issue is so weird it should be explained. I mean if there's something that deeply screwed then it should be known how it was possible. And i did not tweak this installation, myself.
And what if i move to dependency boot and it's still two redundant init processes, launching anything twice ?
then what then what then what then what then what then what then what then what :)
