Please disregard this as a bug with getty. 

It seems the console is
still alive and well - it simply is not refreshed when re-connecting.
This would be a minor issue with the "xm console" command. 

This may
not even be considered a but actually.. 

Evidently, if xm could simply
issue/request a redraw - everything would be perfect. In the meanwhile,
typing something and hitting enter forces a redraw. 

You guys got more
to worry about - thank anyway and merry christmas!
