Hi.

The rcS(5) manpage says:
       VERBOSE
              Setting  this  option  to  no (in lower case) will make the boot
              process a bit less verbose.  Setting this  option  to  yes  will
              make the boot process a bit more verbose.

However, this implies a 3 level verbosity, normal, less (in case of no) and more
in case of (yes).

One should also add that yes must be in lower case, too.
