[Pkg-sysvinit-devel] Bug#666698: initscripts: Should RAMTMP default to no on upgrade?

Package: initscripts
Version: 2.88dsf-22
Severity: normal

Many DDs appear to think that tmpfs-for-/tmp only happens with new
installations, not on upgrade to wheezy. This is not actually the case
at present.

Either the behaviour should be changed, so that it *does* only happen
for new installations, or the wheezy release notes should clearly point
to the change. (Since previous default installations had a certain
amount of swap, then a single partition taking up the rest of the disk,
but users may now wish to increase swap to allow a larger tmpfs for
/tmp, the release notes should also include instructions on how to
decrease the size of a non-LVM root partition in order to make more room
for swap.)
