Petter,

Could you possibly enlighten me on the reason for the mkdir "lock"
in debian/src/initscripts/etc/network/if-up.d/mountnfs?  I'm not sure
I quite see its purpose.

Given that this appears to be involved in the problems here, it looks
like it could be removed if it's no longer needed, but without
understanding what it's really doing, I'm not sure that's a good idea.
