Please mention how mesg got set to its original value...
Add a FILES section.

# find /etc -type f|xargs grep -wl mesg|xargs dlocate
initscripts: /etc/default/devpts
login: /etc/login.defs
# find /etc -type f|xargs grep -l TTYMODE
...
Perhaps mention what its value is if never ever set by anything too.
