[Pkg-sysvinit-devel] Bug report: sid version breaks keyboard/mouse input on boot

Hi,

All packages built from sysvinit source in the Debian repositories break my
system. During boot, the normal output appears, then suddenly a lot of
network-related errors appear (too fast to read) and the system keeps
booting. When reaching the login screen, keyboard and mouse don't work, but
after re-plugging the mouse, it works. I can't test the same with keyboard
because I'm on a laptop. There is nothing out of the ordinary in my kernel
and boot logs, and the X server log mentions finding the mouse and keyboard
without any errors. The problem persisted after I tried replacing sysvinit
with upstart.

After downgrading all packages built from sysvinit source to the "testing"
version, the errors during boot disappeared and keyboard and mouse work
again. Sorry I can't provide any more information about errors and logs,
there simply are none except for the "flashing" errors during boot.
My system specs: Debian sid (all packages up-to-date with repository),
64bit, using nVidia drivers, lightdm and Xfce.

Sincerely,

Jarn Vermote
