* What led up to the situation?
Fresh install of wheezy from netinst.iso 7.6.0
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
Checked daemon.log.
I've placed stubs in /etc/init,d/bootlogd to
1) touch a file [/blog].
2) cp /run/bootlog to /blog before init script exits.
* What was the outcome of this action?
There is not indication the script is run in any log nor are any actions I
place in the script performed.

APT prefers testing

Architecture: amd64 (x86_64)
Kernel: Linux 3.14-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores)
Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) (ignored: LC_ALL set to C)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash
Versions of packages bootlogd depends on:

bootlogd recommends no packages.
bootlogd suggests no packages.
