Control: retitle -1 initscripts: Please let util-linux provide /bin/mountpoint
Hello!
It seems everyone in this bug report agrees that initscripts should not
provide mointpoint. There seems to be multiple suggestions on where to
move it or who should provide it.
We currently disable mountpoint in util-linux because it's already
provided by initscripts. I thus suggest (as has been discussed by many
people many times before this but apparently not in this bug report)
that we start shipping the mountpoint binary from the util-linux
package.
The util-linux project is healthy upstream and would IMHO be a good
source for many utilities we today ship from random other sources in
Debian. (We're currently working on improving the maintenance status of
util-linux in Debian.)
If anyone has any objections to this, please speak up now!
(I've been told that this issue is something that must be dealt with
before the release as in some cases initscripts are apparently no longer
installed. After the release I'd like to discuss about using even more
of the util-linux implementations of different tools.)
Regards,
Andreas Henriksson
