[Pkg-sysvinit-devel] sysvinit in debian work

hi folks,

you must be tired and sick of all the sysvinit-vs-systemd noise. so
appologies for raising it again. but for various reasons I would like to
continue using sysvinit, and up to now I thought that would still be
possible in debian in the future, with some configuration and perhap
only when staying clear of more problematic cases like gnome3. that
would have been good enough for me.

but the recent thread on debian-devel made me wonder whether that is
actually the case. Given the number of people who complain about
systemd, I would have expected some sort of mailing list to have formed
by now where people work on continuing support for sysvinit. But I can't
find that place, do you folks have any idea? I wouldn't be surprised if
it is a bit hidden, given all the heat. If it really doesn't exist, do
you have opinions on whether it should exist? Or whether it is
necessary?

thanks robert
