I suspect the best way would be to send patches to the bug tracking
system (bug#@bugs.debian.org) and tag bugs with patch (ie make first
paragraph in the email 'Control: tags -1 + patch').  This way those of
us with commit rights can review your changes and in time you can
demonstrate your skills and become more involved in the team. :)
