Package: bootlogd
Version: 2.88dsf-59.3

Install bootlogd.
Reboot.
# cat /var/log/boot
(Nothing has been logged yet.)
#

Perhaps there is no way to log the messages one sees at boot anymore
without a camera or a second computer.
