[Pkg-tcltk-devel] Does tk8.4 need XFT support?

Hi!

Appears that it's fairly easy to backport XFT support to Tk 8.4 (from
latest beta 8.5).

Are there objections for including this patch to Debian tk8.4 package?

The only reason for XFT (for me) is the following bug in Xorg:

I guess that if the authors don't want to fix XLFD fonts then they are
loosing interest to them, and XFT is a successor.
