[Pkg-telepathy-maintainers] Bug#492793: telepathy-sofiasip: "username" prompt is confusing

Package: telepathy-sofiasip
Version: 0.5.8-1
Severity: wishlist
It took me a long time to figure out how to create a SIP account using
this package, because I didn't realize that the "Username" field must be
a URI with the "sip:" scheme, and the only feedback I got was a generic
"Network error". (I'm using the "empathy" UI, if that makes a
difference.)
Three wishlist requests come to mind to help future users:
- Document the allowed forms of the username field somewhere.
- Provide meaningful error messages if the username couldn't be parsed.
- Perhaps prepend "sip:" to the username if it isn't already present.
