MSN accounts configured via gnome-online-accounts use telepathy-gabble,
not telepathy-haze. What version of telepathy-gabble do you have?

There is a known bug using MSN/WLM with versions less than 0.16.1-1
(http://bugs.debian.org/677511) so please ensure that you have
telepathy-gabble 0.16.1-1 or later.

There have been other problems connecting to MSN/WLM using Gabble (some
of which were the server's fault). If 0.16.1-1 does not work, a Gabble
debug log (see <https://live.gnome.org/Empathy/Debugging>) would be useful.

If MSN/WLM via XMPP is not yet stable enough, there is a workaround:
remove the gnome-online-accounts account, and create one through the
Empathy "Accounts" UI instead. That will use telepathy-haze and MSNP,
rather than telepathy-gabble and XMPP.

Other pkg-telepathy maintainers: are we confident that Gabble 0.16.x can
be made to connect to MSN reliably, and can be kept reliable for the
stable lifetime of Debian wheezy, approximately 2 years? (Xavier seems
to be the main upstream advocate for using MSN via Gabble rather than
Haze). If not, we should ask pkg-gnome to disable creation of MSN
accounts in g-o-a for wheezy, which would mean Empathy users will use
telepathy-haze for new MSN accounts.

Empathy, gnome-online-accounts and telepathy-gabble are not unrelated.
